Home Testimonies

Late last year, 2011, people at church were praying diligently for my debilitating migraine headaches. These would put me on the couch and take me out of action completely.  All of a sudden I realized it had been a long time since I had a migraine.  The healing was so gradual I didn't notice exactly when the healing took place.

But praise God I'm healed and free again!

We thank the Lord for the prayers being answered in the food pantry!  Here are some testimonies:

One gentleman requested we pray for his blood pressure to come down.  He was very concerned.  He came in the next Saturday and said, "Praise God! I have been healed!  My blood pressure has leveled out."

A woman requested prayer for her friend.  He had cancer; a tumor the size of a grapefruit.  We prayed that the tumor would shrivel up and dissolve.  She later reported that he returned to the doctor who found that the tumor had shrunk 80%.  The doctor said it had to be a miracle.  Praise God!

A young couple came into the food pantry in tears and requested prayer for their three month old son.  He has had gastric stomach problems since birth.  They had visited the emergency room with him 3 or 4 times a week.   This past Saturday, they gave a strong testimony that their son had been miraculously healed and it felt like he was touched by God.  They were so happy!

A young woman came in wearing a brace on her wrist.  She was asked what happened and she responded she sprained her wrist and it was very painful.  I felt like the Lord would heal this woman's wrist.  I asked her if she believed in healing and she responded yes I definitely do.  So, we prayed a short prayer asking the Lord to heal her wrist and that her bones would line up with the word of God.  I then asked her if she thought she was healed.  She responded, "I definitely felt something."  I asked her if she would be willing to remove her wrist brace.  She was willing, so we removed her wrist brace and I asked her to do something she could not do before.  She said she could not move her fingers before, but to her surprise, she started moving her fingers and wrist.  Very excitedly, she reached her arms into the air and yelled "Praise God!  I am healed!"

We just thank the Lord and give him all the praise and glory.

We are so excited about what God is doing in the food pantry!  This week, He showed up again in an amazing way.

After we prayed for a lady with arthritic pain in her ankles the week before, she went home and noticed after a couple of hours her pain was almost totally gone.  She was so thankful, she came to the pantry this week to volunteer.

Secondly, another young lady requested prayer for her allergies and said she had a terrible headache.  After a short prayer she responded, "Thank you Jesus".  She could breath normally and her headache was gone.

For the finale, a young lady wanted us to pray for her family turmoil, and particularly for her son.  After praying for her request, we asked if it was ok to pray for her specifically.  She said she was paralyzed on her right side from a stroke eleven years ago.  We prayed and asked the Lord for a healing touch to which He answered.  She responded that she had feeling back in her body that had not been present for eleven years!  She raised her leg up and down three or four times while she was crying and praising God.  She could not believe how wonderful He was and is.  We rejoiced and praised God with her!

I had not seen or heard from my dad since I was 18. For those of you who don’t have a good relationship with your parents, the need for a Mom or Dad never goes away. It always hurts. It never gets better.

As you get older, it becomes more important because life becomes very fragile.  I would lay in bed and cry.  Harry (my husband) and I would pray and count on the scripture that says the heart of a Father will return to his children.

We would continue to pray, but he lived a long ways away and we would not have any contact. I would write letters. I would try to explain things. As a child, your parents are supposed to make things right, not the child. To be honest, I was totally innocent in what happened between my parents. He thought, “I don’t want to deal with this” so he left Terry and I. Many years passed, probably 17, of believing somehow God was going to work it out, but not always trusting that it was ever going to happen in this lifetime.

So I have a picture that just happened last week.  Without going into all the details, God did a miracle about 4 years ago. This is a picture of my sister, me, my Dad and my Grandmother. I have not had one since I was in 8th grade and this was taken last week in his home. This is the second visit I’ve had in his home in Tennessee.

More than that, which is a miracle, this is a huge miracle. He had written us off and said he didn’t have kids.  Now he introduces us in restaurants as his daughters.  Even my step-mother who didn’t want anything to do with us either, had some friends come over and bring dessert one night and she said, “these are my kids.”

I had a coworker who had serious heart problems.  He went to the hospital to have stents inserted because of some blockages in his arteries and to fix a bad valve.  They were going to do the stents first and then do the valve replacement.

Before he went into surgery the doctor was delayed.  So they prayed for him and said, “In Jesus' name, you are healed.”   They got him on the table (you’re conscious during the stent procedure) and the doctor begins to run the stents up into his arteries.  He looks at everything and asked, “Okay, why are you on my table?"  There was nothing wrong with his arteries.  Furthermore he says, “Well, I don’t know what your schedule is for valve replacement, but there’s nothing wrong with that valve. You’re healed. Get off of my table.”

It says in Isaiah 54 and I Peter 2:24, by Jesus' stripes we're healed.

Many of you know I have allergies, that is, had allergies.  About a month and a half ago I attended a conference.  I didn’t understand the impact generational curses could have on your life.  We weren’t taught that in any churches that we attended prior to Trinity.  It was a wonderful opportunity for the Lord to reveal that to me and I took full advantage of that.

I’m just thanking and praising the Lord because I am probably about 85% healed!  I was allergic to fragrances of any type.  Laundry detergent, fabric softener, hairsprays, gels, perfumes, and after shaves would cause asthma attacks, sore throats, and welts on the roof of my mouth.  I’d have headaches for 3 days after being exposed.  I even had to retire early because I worked in a corporate office with many people where you know everybody likes to smell fresh.

It is amazing to me!  I waited and waited and waited.  And then I started thinking, “Am I not good enough?”  “What am I doing wrong?”  I confessed everything there was to confess and I just kept thinking “I’ve messed up somewhere.  I’m just not good enough.”

I’ve waited many years for this healing so I want to encourage you.  Some of you need a healing or a complete healing.  I’m waiting for my complete 100% healing and it is coming!

The devil told me a lot of lies like "You’re not good enough", and, "You don’t measure up quite like that person over there who has been healed."  Don’t let the devil steal anything from you.  Don’t let him tell you lies.  Hang in there.  Don’t quit asking.  Don’t give up.  Don’t become discouraged!

We had Barry and a few other people pray for our daughter, Kassidy, for an infection possibly caused by the back of an earring lodged under the skin in her ear. She was scheduled to have a procedure requiring the doctors to cut into her skin to find the back of the earring.

A few days after receiving prayer, the redness and swelling were gone, and the "bump" that we felt under the skin was no longer there!

God is faithful to answer our prayers and concerns...from the smallest to the largest need, He cares about it all!

Thank you Lord!

Most of you know I got a new job a little over a year ago now.  The very interesting thing is that I’m still probably one of the newest people at that company.

However, this week I was promoted to supervise my team.  As my boss was leaving they actually came to me and asked me to apply for that position.  This was not something I was anticipating or expecting or had any sense of its coming.  With that came, as Ryan (Trinity Youth Pastor) was talking about the extravagant love and provision of God, a promotion with a 25% raise which was just outstanding.  This is an outstanding experience!

For me, probably the most awesome thing that happened this week was Zak (son) had a school project to do.  He was to make a poster about someone who inspires him.  Everybody in his class had to do a different poster about someone who inspired them.

Zak did his poster about Jesus and how Jesus inspired him.  In the public school setting he is sharing this with all of his friends and teachers.  It was a really amazing poster about the miracles that God can do through him if he continues to live the way God has called him to live.  That in itself was an amazing visible demonstration of the Kingdom of God.

But then one of the other kids in the class had done a poster as well.  This poster said that the person who had inspired this young man was Zak.  [He stated] Zak inspired him in three different ways.  He inspired him to do better in school, read more, and live a better life.

The reason Zak inspired him to live a better life was because Zak was always challenging him to think about what the bible would say to do in any given situation and to follow Jesus' path and not his own.

So just to know that God is moving on this generation of children we have up here every Sunday morning is an amazing, amazing thing.

A few years ago when my daughter was pregnant with her son, he was diagnosed with having a two vessel cord, which means one of the kidneys is not emptying correctly.  Through your prayers, by the time he was born he was fine.

Shortly, thereafter, he developed quite a few allergies and it has taken us through and around the mountain as well as a lot of blood testing.  She took him to the doctor on Friday and he said he looks great.  He is on a special diet but he appears to have no undiagnosed allergies and he is growing and developing so we are just praising God.

I had the opportunity to go to an event called A Walk To Emmaus.  I had to lay aside my watch, my timer, and my phone in order to do this.  I went in there pretty tense and tight, but in the course of that weekend, God did three major things.

  1. He released me from responsibility of some things I tend to hold on to.  When I laid that down, my neck and my TMJ were totally fine and healed instantly.  So I knew I was supposed to lay those down.  There were two major things.  The one I thought was the most major actually wasn’t.
  2. The other thing that happened to me was just clarification of what God is calling me into.  I got some insight during the New Year's Eve weekend and further insight during a later experience that really clarified it.  I was at a table to which I was randomly assigned with other ladies.  We were saying who we were and sharing a little about ourselves.  One gal said she knew me, shared how she had been a patient, and that I had prayed for her prior to her surgery.  She told me she has come back 100% to Christ.  Since that prayer, she said she has been on fire for the Lord and many miracles have taken place.  That confirmed for me that I am to continue praying in the work place, here, and everywhere I go.
  3. The third big praise happened as I got to the closing session and after sharing my testimony, I went up to sit with Carla and a friend.  Carla showed me an email that Pastor Mike sent her stating that our Dad had received Christ during the weekend.  He is 90 years old!
