God Moves in All SeasonsPosted in Shelter on December 02, 2010 by Mike Janes In the down economy and with winter looming, it was not the ideal time to attempt changing homes. We were wanting a bit more space since our galley-style kitchen seemed to be getting smaller as the kids were getting bigger. Against the odds, we decided to trust the Lord and put our home on the market the beginning of October. Our family prayed near every night for faith and patience, that the new owner would be blessed, and for wisdom to make the right choice on a new home. There were zero showings in the first two weeks. Then there was one per week for the next three. But then, people began to flock in and bing, bang, boom...the house was sold! Now...where are we going to live? The new owners take possession on 12/22. A mere three and a half weeks away and we have no prospects. My 9 yr old son, Noah, is praying that we find a house quickly so we can put up a Christmas tree this year. Well, in God's perfect timing, we located and came to an agreement on a house that meets the family's needs one week after selling ours. The sellers have already closed on their new house which now allows us to close on both houses the same day. Three days before Christmas. Never fear, Noah. Your Christmas tree will be there! Praise be to the God who cares! Mike |
